Sclerotherapy is a non-surgical treatment used to improve the appearance of unwanted spider veins and small superficial leg veins. During treatment, a specialized solution is carefully injected into the targeted vein, causing it to close and gradually fade over time.

At Velvet Skyn, sclerotherapy is performed for cosmetic superficial veins only. This treatment is best suited for clients bothered by visible spider veins or small reticular veins on the legs who want a smoother, clearer-looking appearance.

What to expect

Treatment is performed in the office and typically takes less than an hour, depending on the area treated. Most clients return to normal daily activity the same day. A series of treatments is often recommended for best results, as multiple sessions may be needed to achieve desired improvement.

Who may be a good candidate

Sclerotherapy may be a good option for clients who:

  • Have visible spider veins or small superficial leg veins

  • Want cosmetic improvement

  • Are in overall good health

  • Are able to wear compression stockings after treatment

  • Understand that multiple sessions may be needed

Sclerotherapy is intended for superficial cosmetic veins only and is not a treatment for larger symptomatic varicose veins or underlying vein disease. A consultation is required to determine whether you are a good candidate.
